Ten Degrees, a Build to Rent program run by Greystar, is now the tallest modular skyscraper in the world. Ten Degrees apartments in Croydon, located at 100a George Street, are now open to residents. A light show marked the official opening of the world’s tallest modular residential building.
Ten Degrees offers 546 spacious Build-to-Rent apartments in two adjacent 44- and 38-story towers that overlook East Croydon Station and provide panoramic views of London. The apartments range in size from one to three bedrooms. All of the homes are pet-friendly and come furnished or unfurnished, with integrated SMEG appliances and designer furniture in the latter.
“Ten Degrees will set new benchmarks for renting in London by offering high quality housing that perfectly blends work and leisure while providing the utmost comfort and convenience.”
Todd Marler, Senior Director of Multifamily Operations – UK and Ireland, Greystar
Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems, a sister company, manufactured them off-site in a factory in Bedfordshire. The modular pods that had already been built were stacked on top of each other, like giant Lego blocks, to make the construction process easier and less disruptive to the area around them. Off-site manufacturing reduces carbon emissions significantly, and apartments will consume up to 67% less energy than conventional construction.
Ten Degrees aims to take renting in London to new heights by providing world-class service in addition to a variety of market-leading amenities and community initiatives. The company is as tall as the London Eye. Coworking space, a rooftop and ground-level terrace, a private dining room, a pet spa, a games lounge, and a cinema room are available to residents.
Pool tournaments, pizza nights in the residents’ lounge, homework clubs for young families, and rooftop yoga are some of the on-site activities that Greystar’s Community teams organize. Ten Degrees is right in the middle of London’s fastest-growing borough, overlooking the independent food and retail hub Boxpark. East Croydon train station is also close to residents, so trains can get them to Gatwick airport and central London in 15 minutes.
The scheme is managed by a onsite management team that works around the clock. They will also make sure that residents move in without a hitch and are welcomed into the community. All residents will receive their first month’s rent free of charge as a welcome offer.
“We know that people who rent our properties are not just looking for somewhere to live but also a lifestyle and community. With ten social spaces, including a gym, co-working space and pet spa, Ten Degrees will be home to a genuine community while also meeting the demand for places to work, live and play all under one roof.”
